Salary: Grade 7: £25,991 to £30,451 per year
Hours: 37 hours per week
Location: North Lincolnshire
Closing date: 25 October 2020
A vacancy has arisen for a self-motivated individual to join the public rights of way and access team within Neighbourhood Services.
You will help maintain, improve and protect an extensive network of public paths and ways situated across North Lincolnshire, working typically with fellow officers, members of the public, land managers, local councils, user groups and so on.
You should have a reasonable level of knowledge of public rights of way legislation and procedures, map-reading competence and the aptitude to formulate competent specifications for certain physical works, such as surfacing, bridge construction, steps and revetments. Good IT proficiency, the capacity to organise and prioritise work, and good oral and written skills are also essential, particularly the ability to handle tactfully situations of potential conflict. So, too, is the ability to prepare and present committee reports.
As site visits are required, you must be able to transport yourself around North Lincolnshire throughout the year in all weather.
Ideally, you should have a countryside-related qualification to degree level and experience of working within the local authority system.
