Downs to the Sea: Recovery and Resilience in Wetland Habitats is spearheaded by the South Downs National Park Trust alongside a partnership comprising South Downs National Park Authority (SDNPA), RSPB, Arun and Rother Rivers Trust, Brighton and Hove City Council and Writing Our Legacy.

Supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Downs to the Sea will help to restore and protect crucial ponds and wetlands, across the South Downs and in the Arun Valley, that are instrumental in nature recovery and resilience to climate change at scale, providing multiple ecosystem services.

We are now starting a 12 month development phase to develop a comprehensive delivery programme and activity plan. The Project Officer will work with partners and SDNPA teams to bring the programme together. In particular, it will require working closely with the RSPB to develop wetland restoration project briefs and make them shovel ready.

The role is based with the SDNPA and the duties will also include working with SDNPA colleagues to support the administration of the Downs to the Sea partnership and develop detailed costed activity plans for a delivery phase funding application.

Role scope:
- 12 month fixed contract
- The role will require flexible working with project partners
- Based in the South Downs Centre Midhurst with the opportunity to also work from home on a flexible basis
- Full driving licence (some locations will not be easily accessible by public transport)
