About the team & role:
Across our beautiful county, communities and businesses are counting on us to manage local flood risks. Through developing understanding and partnership working, we rise to this challenge and continually strive for a climate-resilient Gloucestershire. It’s work to be proud of. It’s work that has the power to ensure lasting improvements to people’s lives, whilst making genuine contributions to biodiversity and natural amenity.
As part of our specialist Lead Local Flood Authority team, you will be central to developing the NFM and Blue-Green Infrastructure potential of Gloucestershire.
This is a partnership project with multiple stakeholders. Day to day, you’ll be working with contractors, communities, risk management authorities and landowners, so adaptable communication and efficient organisational skills are essential.
Office base will be Shire Hall, Gloucester, but the role will be a mix of homeworking, office days and site work.
Your environmental land management experience and communication skills will be at the very heart of this exciting new project and central to its success.
Excellent negotiating and community engagement skills, especially with regards to land-use change will be as critical as your passion for NFM and the natural environment.
Gloucestershire County Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people or vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
We want to be an employer of choice, attracting and retaining excellent people to work for us, so that we can best serve all of Gloucestershire’s diverse communities. Our promise to you is that we will provide an inclusive and supportive working environment that enables you to bring your whole self to work and realise your full potential.
