Vincent Wildlife Trust

Head of Conservation

We are looking for a new Head of Conservation at Vincent Wildlife Trust to lead a team of scientists developing innovative monitoring solutions, delivering population restoration, and employing conflict management approaches to secure the future of threatened mammals.

Our work focuses on smaller carnivores and rare bats in Britain, Ireland and more widely in Europe. The team has a track record of delivering ground-breaking projects, including the translocation and re-establishment of the pine marten to mid-Wales, running the first project to build climate change resilience into bat roosts and employing cutting-edge social science techniques to develop consensus in potentially divisive carnivore reintroductions.

This role offers an unrivalled opportunity to develop and deliver a wide range of on-the-ground mammal conservation projects, work closely with university partners to address evidence gaps through our PhD programme, and advocate our approach to mammal conservation more widely with our stakeholders and the public.

You will need to have a combination of excellent leadership skills, a great track record in mammal conservation and scientific research, and experience of successfully managingconservation projects from inception to conclusion.

The Trust offers a quality employment package, the chance for continued professional development and the opportunity to travel and engage with your peers further afield.
