Environmental Advisor

H&H Land & Estates is part of the H&H Group and is one of the leading Chartered Surveyors, Land Agents, Environment & Forestry advisors in the North of England.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Environmental Advisor to join our expanding team, primarily based in Carlisle but will involve travel throughout the North of England.

H&H is a leading provider of environment and forestry advice, professional consultancy, planning and development and business consultancy services across the rural and residential property sectors.

We are looking for driven, well organised individuals that can demonstrate excellent time management skills with an ability to manage a broad portfolio of work. You will develop professional skills through study, external training and examinations as appropriate.

The role includes but is not limited to the following:

  • providing professional advice to clients on environmental and ecological matters
  • preparing and submitting environmental scheme applications on behalf of clients
  • undertaking Habitat and Baseline Environmental Surveys, advising on Government environmental schemes and legislative requirements
  • undertaking ecological surveys to the relevant professional standards using specialist surveying equipment
  • producing ecological appraisal reports in support of planning applications

You will preferably be a member of the Chartered Institute of Ecologists & Environmental Managers (CIEEM) or be working towards this (professional subscriptions is included in your remuneration package). You will be a competent computer user with the ability to produce plans and maps and write comprehensive reports to industry standards

You should demonstrate a strong interest in the rural environment and be adept at and enjoy engaging, influencing and communicating with clients, professionals and the rural community.

A full UK driving licence is essential.
