Middlemarch Environmental is an award-winning natural environment consultancy that has recently embarked on an exciting period of strategic growth. Headquartered in Coventry and with regional teams across the UK, Middlemarch provides nationwide ecological, arboricultural and biodiversity services, as well as supporting clients with innovative landscape design and nature-based solutions.
Many challenges can arise at the interface of nature and human development. Middlemarch provides expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients to address these challenges and ensure that the value in nature is fully understood, preserved and, wherever possible, enhanced.
Over the last 30 years, Middlemarch has developed a strong reputation and is renowned for delivering ecology and biodiversity solutions for large EIA projects, including residential, employment and major infrastructure developments. As a member of our EIA team you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering the ecology and biodiversity aspects of EIA projects, including client and project management, baseline surveys, technical reports and overseeing the design and implementation of mitigation and enhancement. The role will also include work on Biodiversity Net Gain Assessments and Habitats Regulations Assessments as required.
You will need to act as a brand ambassador for the business, communicating confidently and clearly with clients and providing sound advice. You’ll also need to demonstrate a commitment to health and safety, with an ability to complete dynamic risk assessments in the field.
The role can be based at the company HQ in the Midlands or can be home-based. An electric or hybrid vehicle can be provided to support this role.
Due to the nature of ecological fieldwork you’ll need to be prepared to work flexible and, at times, unsociable hours. Additional hours worked can be claimed as overtime and/or time off in lieu.
Skills and Experience
If you're a consultant who is currently working at a senior or principal level, or who is looking to take the next step in your consultancy career, this could be an ideal opportunity for you. All we require is that you are a confident and competent consultant who can demonstrate relevant experience and/or qualifications.
Membership of CIEEM and holding of valid protected species licences would be advantageous, but are not essential.
As a part of our team, you’ll be offered a competitive salary in line with your experience and skills, the potential for performance related rewards, company pension, and the opportunity for training and continued professional development.
