Community Project Officer - Manchester

Location: Remote/Greater Manchester
Salary: £22,986.00 - £25,500.00 Pro Rata
Hours: Part Time, 15 hours per week, worked over 2 days
Contract: Permanent

We’re looking for an experienced project officer with a passion for working with communities, to inspire people to take action for nature in Greater Manchester.

Specific tasks:

  • To lead our work in Greater Manchester, delivering actions to save nature through people.
  • To identify key community stakeholders and form partnerships to further our aims, facilitation action for nature through others.
  • To develop and manage community volunteers to support our work and deliver change.
  • To work with our fundraising team to identify and develop opportunities for additional funding.
  • To embed evaluations measures to show impact across Greater Manchester.
  • To share learning gained with similar urban and community projects undertaken by the RSPB.

Essential skills, knowledge, and experience:

  • Experience of developing and managing projects.
  • The ability to deliver reporting and evaluation to show impact against agreed objectives.
  • Experience of working with community groups to deliver shared objectives.
  • Experience of recruiting and managing volunteers.
  • Great verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to develop partnerships and network - internally and externally.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage and deliver a diverse workload ensuring effective prioritisation and balancing of the needs of a range of stakeholders.
