About Us
The Tregothnan Estate is a private family home with over 100 acres of garden and 600 hectares of woodland. The Estate has maintenance, gardening and joinery teams that maintain the core estate and manage the beautiful surroundings which are on the edge of the River Fal. The Estate is also a landlord and provides traditional Cornish buildings for rent across residential, commercial, and agricultural tenants. Through its day to day running, the Estate produces tea (the only UK grown blend), honey and jam, which are sold by our trading team, and rents holiday accommodation. The Estate is diverse in its activities and the job roles it provides. The teams have a great community spirit, the surroundings are inspiring, and the work is always interesting. We are now seeking a Woodsperson to become a valuable member of our small, friendly, and established Forestry & Woodland Team.

The Role
This is a great opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Woodsperson, who wants to reach their full potential, at a very exciting time in the history of woodland management of the Estate. The work is varied and covers all aspects of woodland operations from planting, maintenance and establishment to thinning and small-scale harvesting, in predominantly broadleaf woodland.
About You
You will have: a minimum of 2 years’ experience in woodland management; the ability to demonstrate a wide range of silvicultural (the growing and cultivation of trees) skills and knowledge; and a full clean driving licence and own transport, as we are in a rural location, with no public transport links.
