Training Officer
Part Time – 21 hours per week
Fixed Term Contract for 15 months
Salary: £27,500 FTE (£16,500 actual salary for 0.6 FTE)
Location: Beechcroft House, with delivery at Swanwick Lakes and some home working

We are seeking a Training Officer to join our cause.
This Fixed Term role involves:
Delivery and admin of Trust’s Forest School, Wildbeach and CPD training programme
- Act as the primary contact with Laser, and other accreditation and awarding bodies.
- Act as co-tutor on the Forest School training programme.
- Book, invoice and manage relationship with contractor to deliver first aid training as part of Forest School training programme.
- Act as main tutor on Wildbeach training programme, delivering practical training, marking and support to learners.
- Act as main tutor on Outdoor Curriculum leader training programme, working with other colleagues to deliver practical training, marking and support to learners.

Experience
- Extensive experience of Forest School and outdoor education delivery.
- Some adult training experience, including planning, delivery and assessment.
- Some experience of working in a team as well as self-managing time.
- Volunteer management experience.
Knowledge
- A clear understanding of the Forest School principles and ethos.
- Understanding of community organising, movement building, and behaviour change approaches.
- Good understanding of health and safety in the workplace, GDPR and safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- A genuine interest in and knowledge of wildlife and nature conservation.
Skills
- Level 3 Certificate for Forest School leaders.
- Level 3 Award or above in Education and Training (or equivalent qualification) (if you do not hold a relevant qualification, you will be expected to complete this within your probation period)
- Practical skills required as a Forest School leader at a trainer level (tool use, knots, fire lighting etc.)
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Personal Qualities
- Passion for the environment and wildlife conservation and engaging with the public on these issues.
- Adaptability within a fast-moving field.
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
- Creative thinker.
