Position: Environmental Consultant (Invasive Plant Management)
Location: Preferably based around Birmingham or Manchester, but would consider alternative locations for the right candidate.
We are looking for someone with the right skills and relevant experience to become a key member of our Invasives team.
Phlorum is a dynamic and ambitious environmental consultancy. We are seen as ‘thought-leaders’ in the burgeoning Japanese knotweed, and other invasive non-native plants, control industry. Having been at the forefront of producing national guidance, setting up the premier trade body for this sector and in our involvement in landmark and high-profile legal actions involving this non-native invasive weed.

Main Responsibilities
The role includes office and site work. Site work will involve a range of activities, such as: surveying; supervising excavation works on construction sites and domestic properties; applying herbicides. Office work will be preparing reports; tenders; management plans; method statements; herbicide records; and risk assessments. During the summer a significant component of the work will be onsite, managing and undertaking herbicide applications for invasive plant treatment.
Requirements
A driving licence is essential for the role (company vans are available). Applicants should have good communication, written and computer skills (Microsoft Office) and have a positive, proactive attitude. Experience of working on construction sites and having held a Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card would be particularly valuable. NTPC herbicide application qualifications PA1/PA6AW spraying licence would also be advantageous.
The role will require travel and occasional overnight stays throughout the UK.
Salary: £20,000 to £25,000
