We are looking for someone who is passionate and enthusiastic about conservation delivery, who sees the big picture and has an eye for detail. Someone with real vision, commitment, a passion for nature and a hunger for giving people the very best experiences of wildlife in this part of the world. We are looking for someone who could take our woodland reserve work to a whole new level.

What's the role about?

This role involves leading our work both in terms of the planning and implementation of our ambitious conservation management objectives and how we engage with our visitors and the local communities.

Looking after several reserves and making sure they deliver for nature - you'll have a business to run, which has unique conservation challenges.

What we need from you

As Site Manager for a number of reserves across a wide area, you will be responsible for operations, overseeing the effective and compliant delivery of work in order to deliver objectives for biodiversity, support and income generation.

Essential:

  • You will understand the ecological requirements of key species and habitats
  • You will have knowledge of project management
  • You will be able to demonstrate putting Health, Safety & Environmental management knowledge into practice
  • Knowledge of cross-compliance/risk management
  • Knowledge of grazing to support conservation delivery, particularly in a woodland context
  • You will have great interpersonal and communication skills
  • You will be able to demonstrate skills in leadership
  • Budget management will be familiar to you
  • You will be adept at problem solving through Influencing and negotiation and being diplomatic
  • You will have a proven track record of managing nature reserves
  • Working with multi-functional team or in a big organisation
  • You will be able to demonstrate a track record of managing people (staff and/or volunteers).
  • You will have experience of undertaking wildlife surveys

Desirable:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject
  • The ability to speak Welsh
