Tamar Valley AONB Project Officer - FIPL

Fixed-Term: Two Years
Gunnislake, Cornwall
£34,731 - £41,703

We're looking for a confident and experienced project officer to further develop and facilitate the Tamar Valley AONB's Farming in Protected Landscapes portfolio, in order to deliver this innovative Defra-funded programme over the next two years - delivering lasting benefits across this protected and unique landscape.

The role will be primarily supporting farmers and land managers through agricultural transition over the next 2 years, including supporting and leading on capital works proposals on farms and land holdings, with a focus on benefits for nature, climate, people and place. The successful candidate will engage with farmers, land managers and partners to develop and deliver high-quality applications and projects using the full allocation of the AONB's FIPL funding, with funding applications presented to an assessment panel for approval. The Farming in Protected Landscapes (FiPL) programme is part of the Government’s Agricultural Transition Plan.

The Farming in Protected Landscapes (FiPL) programme is part of the Government’s Agricultural Transition Plan. It is a national, core-funded (Defra) programme and needs to be delivered within tight deadlines over the next 2 years, having recently been extended from its original 3-year term.

Innovation will also be required in order to encourage applications from harder to reach land managers, run supporting events, and to ensure successful projects and clusters of farmers work with each other to bring about public goods and services benefits (as outlined in the Government’s 25 Year Environment Plan).
