Duration: Until the 1st of September 2023
Hours:
Full Time, 37,5 hours p/w

This role will involve providing a RSPB presence at our Loch Ruthven nature reserve during the summer season in 2022.

This role will be working with visitors to provide on-hand communication and advice about Slavonian grebes and responsible access, talking with people in clear, positive, engaging, and persuasive ways to encourage responsible use of the reserve. This will include working to reduce the impact of irresponsible behaviour such as informal camping with fires, littering and disturbance to breeding birds. Engaging with water users will be a key part of this role.

You may also be required to undertake, or assist with, minor maintenance works such as renewing signage or repairing fencing.

You will be resourceful and resilient, working at the reserve by yourself much of the time but with support from the rest of the reserve team. You will also work in conjunction with the Loch Ruthven volunteer team, who are managed by the reserve warden. During quieter periods at Loch Ruthven, there will also be opportunities to work on some of the other reserves, particularly helping out with infrastructure maintenance. Some office work will be required, for example preparing signage, emails, and occasional meetings.
