Ranger (Conservation)

£24,037 - £26,925 per annum, subject to experience
Full-time, permanent – 37.5 hours a week, including regular weekend working

Job description:

This is a varied role where one day you may be supporting our conservation grazing programme or thinking about approaches to re-wilding, and another you may be helping design a wetland restoration scheme or supporting our ecology volunteers in surveying the important wildlife within the Park.

The role will encompass a variety of tasks including but not limited to the following:

• Work closely with the Trust’s Development and Fundraising Team to help develop and deliver new innovative nature conservation programmes and secure funding
• Undertake monitoring of key species and habitats, to help the Trust understand its environmental impact and inform its management approaches
• Liaise with the public and support a welcoming atmosphere in the park for visitors.
• In addition, the ideal candidate will naturally demonstrate the following characteristics:
• Be friendly and approachable to members of the public
• Ability to communicate positively and confidently with diverse groups of people
• Ability to think creatively and innovatively to develop new approaches to work.
