Full-time hours 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
We are recruiting for one full-time Team Leader who share our values and has the experience and skills to support adults with learning disabilities to participate in meaningful work within our day service. You should also have the skills to manage a small staff team and co-ordinate activities within the group which meet the needs of individual members and which are in keeping with Tiphereth’s mission statement, Camphill values and the aims of the Peregrine and Estates group.
The post is based in the Peregrine and Estates Group who have a therapeutic approach is providing meaningful outdoor work opportunities which are of direct benefit to the Tiphereth and wider community. One group stays at Tiphereth each day to tend to our community Estate and one group goes out and about to our partner organisations to do community gardening and conservation work. Partner organisations include the Cyrenians at Linburn Walled Garden, The Water of Leith Conservation Trust, Jock Tamson’s Gairden, The Hermitage of Braid and Duddingston Community Land.
Experience or a knowledge of environmental and conservation work is essential as well as the practical skills to undertake this work. Previous experience of working with adults with learning disabilities is also essential, as is a good understanding of autism and the needs of people who use different forms of communication and a confidence in working with people with behaviour that challenges.
It is essential that candidates have a full, valid driving licence and are comfortable driving an 8 seat minibus.
Tiphereth is a Camphill community based on the edge of the Pentland hills in Edinburgh supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism in a range of day services, supported living, residential care, and social enterprises.
