Are you passionate about the environment? Are you looking for a new challenge and to take the next step in your career? If so, this is a real chance to make a positive difference in leading our newly formed service as Parks, Countryside and Arboriculture Manager.
You will work as a key member of the Neighbourhood Services leadership team, using your significant experience in a senior management position to protect, enhance and promote the borough’s assets for the benefit of residents and visitors and lead our passionate, knowledgeable and experienced teams as we deliver some exciting projects and plans to help us get the most out of the fantastic green resource that we have here in Dudley.
You will turn ideas into reality across our 7 Nature Reserves (including 2 National Nature Reserves), a Grade I listed Historic Landscape, numerous Sites of Special Scientific Interest, our 38 parks and 201 other designated open spaces and woodlands. If that isn’t enough, you will also be responsible for how we manage our stock of approximately 170,000 trees. All of these assets contribute hugely to our Borough’s health, heritage and sustainability.
The successful candidate will hold a relevant recognised qualification to degree level or an appropriate professional qualification, together with a recognised management qualification or have the ability to demonstrate through extended experience and training the necessary knowledge to carry out the full range of duties.
