We have two exciting opportunities for landscape architects to join the council’s Natural Environment Team.
The roles include the ability to work from home on average 40% of working week, and we are open to discussions about working hours.
As part of the ongoing development of the team we have two permanent landscape architect roles that we are seeking to recruit to;-
Your focus will be on designing and managing improvements to our open spaces that have a positive impact on people’s quality of life. Managing all aspects of projects from concept to completion, you’ll get involved with community consultations, co-ordinate tenders and oversee implementation of works on site. The role will also see you acting as consultee on planning applications in order to shape future developments in the borough.
As part of a multi-disciplinary team alongside ecologists, tree officers and parks officers, there will be the opportunity to work closely with these officers in your work. This will give you the chance to share ideas, broaden your knowledge and become our expert in this area, bringing the latest thinking on current trends and best practice.

A degree or postgraduate diploma in landscape architecture or landscape design is a must, together with strong communication and project management skills. While experience of community consultations would be ideal, what really matters is that you are genuinely enthusiastic about shaping the spaces that people love using.
