Role information

We are looking to appoint a head of uplands with excellent technical knowledge, passion, and an understanding of upland management. The overarching purpose of the role is to develop the strategic and operational plans for BASC’s uplands department, and to provide an informed and specialist point of contact for public bodies, relevant stakeholders, BASC staff, members, and the wider rural community.

The successful candidate will have:

• experience, knowledge, and expertise in the upland management;
• experience of working with partners and/or volunteers and maintaining good communication and motivation;
• experience of working with statutory agencies, or other stakeholders on the successful development and implementation of policy;
• planning and organisational skills; and
• a good understanding and practical use of IT, particularly Microsoft Office.

The location for this position is flexible but will require travel throughout the UK.
