Habitats include woodland, heathland, wetland, and species rich grassland. The sites are grazed by our own herd of Dexter cattle and are predominantly urban or urban fringe in nature. The primary role of the team is to ensure that these sites are maintained to a high standard both for wildlife conservation purposes and public enjoyment.

We are looking for two full time Countryside Estate Workers, ideally with experience of working with volunteers and having a good practical knowledge and experience of countryside management techniques for nature conservation. As well as being able to demonstrate managing a wide range of habitat types, the successful candidate will be competent in the use of farm machinery, chainsaws, brush cutters and power tools. The ability to carry out site inspections and maintain records are also essential requirements of the role.

Candidates will ideally have an understanding of wildlife and countryside legislation and possess appropriate qualifications in the safe use of forestry equipment and pesticide application. Possession of a valid full UK driving licence is an essential requirement.
