Nene Park Trust manages 697 hectares of green space along the Nene Valley including Ferry Meadows, one of the most visited country parks in the UK and a much-loved part of the landscape and fabric of Peterborough.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Development Officer with a variety of skills including community engagement, capital works oversight and project management to take forward the development phase of an ambitious £3million project funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) entitled: Nene Park: Peterborough’s Community Greenspace. Through this transformational project, we will help build Ferry Meadows into an all-embracing community hub, promoting inclusivity and wellbeing, and celebrating cultural diversity whilst also empowering our community to play an important role in park management and help conserve the precious natural heritage of the Park.
With responsibility for the development of the Trust’s largest externally-funded project to-date, which is key to the success of the Trust’s current 10-year Strategy “Doing More with More”, we are looking for a candidate of the highest calibre to oversee the project’s development.
Major tasks to be undertaken by the post holder during the Development Phase include:
At all stages you will be supported by an experienced team of Nene Park Trust staff, as well as consultants and partners. Should the NLHF Round 2 application be approved for funding, the post may be extended to cover the Delivery Phase of the project to 28 February 2026.
