We are looking for a knowledgeable, enthusiastic and competent professional to lead on delivering a maintenance service on the Public Rights of Way network across the county. You will understand the importance of this resource and have proven technical and practical knowledge with an established record of achievement.
Oxfordshire has for many years delivered this service through a specialist inhouse delivery team. We are now looking to develop that resource and recruit a new team leader to take the service forward.
This is a varied and challenging role requiring a broad skillset & understanding of PRoW law & practice, countryside construction techniques, small scale engineering principles, land management as well are core project management skills. You will act as the ‘go to’ person for all practical matters relating to specification, design, cost & delivery and draw up and deliver both large programmes of work across the network [summer vegetation clearance & bridge replacement programme]; as well as small bespoke solutions to address localised problems including surfacing & drainage.
The role requires excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, with the aim of providing a modern, responsive and effective maintenance service for the county’s residents and visitors across the 2600-mile public rights of way network.
You will work in partnership with a wide range of stakeholders including voluntary & special interest groups.
