The Urban Heaths Partnership (UHP) has a new opportunity for a forward thinking individual to lead on messaging campaigns and projects around heathland mitigation focussing on raising awareness and behaviour change.
The Campaigns Officer will work as part of the small multi-disciplined team, leading on projects and campaigns to raise awareness of the heathland habitat and the pressures on sites arising from their visitors, encouraging interest, understanding and the want to help to protect them. This will include developing and delivering new initiatives on behalf of the partnership based upon relevant data, research, target audiences and behaviour change techniques. Engagement methods will include UHP social media accounts and the Dorset Heaths website along with community organised and stand alone events amongst others.
The person appointed will have a qualification or training related to behaviour change or marketing, with experience of developing and delivering behavioural change campaigns in the environmental sector. Knowledge of, and an interest in countryside management would be desirable along with experience of working in a partnership situation. The ability to work individually and as part of a team, good communication skills and the ability to fulfil the travel requirements of the post are essential. The role will include some evening and weekend working (for which time off in lieu will be given). The successful candidate will have a DBS check undertaken prior to employment.
