An exciting opportunity to join our team for a season carrying out peatland restoration across the South West. Fixed term contract with the possibility of joining our team in Somerset from April - July if desired. Please email for further information.
Team Member with our Peatland restoration and countryside management team.
Hours: 37.5hrs/week + overtime
Pay: £25,000 - £30,000 Pro rata
Based in the South West across Dartmoor, Exmoor and Bodmin.
The Role:
- On a daily basis, assisting to carry out Peatland restoration works on varying sites around the South West.
- Various works including Digger driving, building timber ditch blocks, fencing, tree planting, moss planting.
- Working as part of a team.
- Complying with Health and Safety and environmental legislation.
- Sites are in remote rural location, own transport to get to depot is essential.
- Expected to stay away depending on location, accommodation provided. Some weekend working required.
Essential requirements:
- A good attitude to completing works to the highest standard.
- Good communication skills.
- Prepared to work outside on very remote moorland sites in all weather.
- Map reading / GIS mapping.
- Driving licence.
Additional interests an advantage:
- Interest in conservation, wildlife and the environment.
- Awareness of farming and agriculture.
- Full training provided including Digger ticket, CSCS Card, First Aid, chainsaw, Health and Safety awareness and ATV.
