Natural Environment Officer

The Shropshire Hills AONB Partnership is recruiting to this key post in our small team, leading work on nature recovery, biodiversity and ecosystems. Working with a wide range of partner organisations, you will develop and manage delivery projects as well as providing strategic advice, support and input where needed. You will take forward our developing work on peatlands and headwaters, woodlands and trees, climate change and on specific areas including the Clun and Teme catchments. We have an unusual learning and development opportunity, as you will work for some months alongside our longstanding Natural Environment Officer until his retirement. You will lead on GIS and monitoring for the AONB Management Plan, represent the team on relevant steering and technical groups, report to the Shropshire Hills AONB Partnership, and participate in networks including the National Association for AONBs. You will also have a role in commenting on planning applications and other consultations in relation to natural environment issues. You will have a significant experience in developing and leading the delivery of natural environment projects as well as providing technical advice and input to casework and strategic work.
