Natural England

National Nature Reserves Community Engagement and Visitor Experience Lead Adviser (x4)

Salary: £26,224 per annum (37 hours per week)

Join us in leading new approaches to community engagement and visitor experience at some of England's most important places for nature.

At Natural England, we’re here to make sure people and nature can thrive. From managing National Nature Reserves, to gathering and analysing environmental data, and promoting health and wellbeing through the great outdoors, we love what we do. Join us and you’ll be part of an inclusive, motivated and ambitious team, committed to achieving results for our environment, for everyone.

We have four exciting opportunities on offer across a number of National Nature Reserves (NNR) covering Cumbria; Merseyside & Greater Manchester; Oxfordshire & Chilterns; and Devon & Cornwall.

Each team and reserve offers its own unique opportunities to connect people with nature. You will help to deliver first class standards in visitor access, visitor experience, responsible recreation, community engagement and inclusive participation across our NNR estate, ensuring our National Nature Reserves deliver for people and for nature.

You will take the lead in planning and delivery of priority Connecting People with Nature outcomes at each NNR within the area, focussing on the sites where key community engagement opportunities exist, reducing inequalities by tackling barriers to nature, and delivering a first class visitor experience that encourages safe and responsible recreation on our most visited sites.

You will have a good knowledge and understanding of how access provision can be managed at high conservation value sites, and how different engagement techniques can be used to benefit visitors, local communities and new audiences, as well as benefitting our reserves through volunteering and participation. You will be an excellent communicator, have a positive, ambitious and creative attitude, and work collaboratively to build community partnerships to help deliver shared outcomes.

If you’re inspired to protect and enhance England’s wildlife, connect more people with nature, and want to make a difference at some of the country's most important National Nature Reserves, apply here.
