Restoring Cheltenham's Escarpment Grasslands

Management Planning Consultant

The Restoring Cheltenham’s Escarpment Grasslands project needs a Management Plan for 100 ha of publically owned grassland and woodland of high value for nature and landscape and with much public use. The plan will build on an existing document and utilize the expertise of the project’s Steering Group to develop its main themes and proposals. Help is needed to ensure that this input is of high quality and to convert it into a structured plan and an associated work programme. The final product should be a Word document compatible with in-house software. Small amounts of date searching and field survey needed.

The project envisages appointing a self-employed person for up to 400 hours work between now and September 2024. No expenses will be paid. Experience in producing countryside management plans, ideally in CMS format, essential. Must be able to both challenge and guide strong willed individuals. Must be aware of current thinking on landscape scale conservation, climate change and dynamic communities. Proximity to Cheltenham helpful, but some meetings may be by video-conferencing.
