Location: Wallingford, Oxfordshire
Full time, 12 month fixed contract
Salary: £28,840 per annum
For this exciting new role, we are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to help us engage landowners and farmers across Oxfordshire, building partnerships with them to restore nature and deliver Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG).
BNG is a new mechanism through which developers are required to leave biodiversity in a better state after a development than it was before construction began. Where the required biodiversity uplift cannot be delivered on site, TOE takes payments from developers for the delivery of off-site BNG projects. This post will support the Programme Manager in the successful delivery of TOE's BNG programme. Specifically, the post-holder will work with individual farmers, landowners, networks (eg farmer clusters) and developers in Oxfordshire by face-to-face and digital outreach work to build and manage a robust pipeline of high-quality BNG projects.
The successful candidate will have an understanding of farming and/or agricultural land management issues and practical conservation management best practice as well as experience of designing and costing practical works, ideally in the environment sector.
