About the role
This role is focused on ensuring high performing Country Parks across Essex, effectively managing the green spaces as hubs for biodiversity, and leading the development and implementation of robust business plans, whilst ensuring our long term strategic aims are met, in line with the climate change agenda, and delivering exemplary levels of service to the citizens of Essex and visitors.
You will provide guidance to your employees whilst also managing the recruitment, induction, training, work planning, evaluating performance, managing conduct and disciplinary matters. You will also ensure training and development plans are up to date and meet compliance.
You will provide insights around the overall maintenance and health and safety plans for the Country Parks, driving the development and implementation of consistent processes, controls, ways of working and operational practices.
As a leader, you will drive change initiatives, develop a continuous improvement ethos amongst employees, encourage challenge and identify investment in projects that drive new revenue streams.
We’re looking for an excellent leader, with people management skills, leading and managing a large geographically dispersed service, with an understanding of land management practises and conservation issues.
Ideally, you will be educated to degree level in land management, countryside management, business management or operations management, or equivalent in experience, with evidence of continuing professional development and expert knowledge in relevant professional area.
Above all, we are looking for someone who can demonstrate considerable enthusiasm and energy, together with being highly motivated for what can be achieved.
