Project Officer - Wild West Berkshire Schools

Salary: £10,456 (pro-rata) per annum (FTE £26,140)
Contract: Fixed term contract to end of May 2023
Hours: Part time, 14 hours per week
Based: Nature Discovery Centre, West Berks and homeworking

Children and schools are at the heart of the engagement work we do in local communities. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a collaborative project between BBOWT and West Berkshire Council. The Project Officer will be central to the development and delivery of an engaging outreach programme to local schools in the West Berks area. This role entails working with children aged 7-10 and their families to deliver inspiring activities that promote pro-conservation behaviours and encourage a healthy lifestyle.

We are looking for an outgoing, enthusiastic educator with great communication skills and a passion for the natural environment, with at least one year’s experience delivering educational activities to Primary-aged children. Experience developing and delivering activities that encourage a healthy lifestyle is desirable.

The Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust is a membership-based voluntary organisation, managing over 80 nature reserves, influencing land management and educating and encouraging all sectors of the community to care for local wildlife.

This post will be DBS checked at enhanced level. A criminal conviction will not necessarily be a bar to obtaining the position.
