Green Spaces Officer

Grade 5, £23,484 up to £27,514 per annum pro rata

37 hours per week on a permanent contract

We are committed to providing cleaner, greener neighbourhoods with safe and exciting green spaces that are both valued and used by all aspects of the community.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a Green Space Officer working as part of the Green Spaces team. You will carry out a range of duties to help ensure a high-quality customer service and support to the Green Spaces team.

Duties include:

• Assist in the day-to-day management of Green Spaces, including parks, open spaces and sports pitches.
• To coordinate play safety issues, ensuring weekly inspections, annual ROSPA inspections and the ongoing safety and maintenance of play equipment.
• Carry out risk assessments for the section, ensuring high standards of health and safety for employees, contractors and the general public.
• Work in partnership with community groups, external agencies and volunteers to develop sites to their full potential.
• Assist with works which will help to reduce the impacts of climate change and improve the biodiversity of our Green Spaces.
• To deal with customers, contractors, councillors and staff on the phone, face to face and via email.
