We are looking for a motivated and innovative candidate to manage the Northamptonshire Biodiversity Records Centre (NBRC) and the Bedfordshire and Luton Biodiversity Recording and Monitoring Centre (BRMC). Hosted by the Wildlife Trust BCN, these Local Environmental Record Centres provide access to information about species, habitats and wildlife sites for public, research and commercial users.
The role of the Centre Manager is to ensure the strategic vision, financial stability and sound management of the two Local Environmental Record Centres (LERCs). The successful candidate will provide day to day management of the centres and help to generate and maintain business.
You will be responsible for overseeing the development of policies, work plans and contracts and management of finances. You will have direct line management of six members of staff. The role will also involve promotion of the centre’s services and activities, and fund-raising to support their work. It will also be essential to liaise with biological recorders; other data providers, other record centres and the National Biodiversity Network.
We are seeking someone with a keen interest in and commitment to wildlife and environmental issues and an understanding of biological recording and the functions of a biological records centre.
