Keystone is passionate about the delivery of exceptional quality ecological consultancy services and engaging with clients from all sectors to deliver benefits for wildlife and mitigate environmental harm.
We are seeking a committed, enthusiastic, and driven ecologist to join our tight knit and ambitious Consultancy Team who are currently working on a broad range of projects from small scale developments to nationally important infrastructure schemes. Keystone Ecology would like to hear from ecologists who want to expand their knowledge by working in a team that not only designs but delivers exceptional quality mitigation/habitat creation schemes and who have sound knowledge of current ecology legislation, planning policy, survey standards and licensing requirements plus the ability to deliver robust, clear, and concise client advice and written outputs.
Who should apply?
You will need to have a qualification in Ecology or a related field and ideally have experience of protected species surveys, however we are able to provide relevant training for surveyors to carry out some aspects of survey work under licences held by our experienced staff.
We are also looking for individuals with experience operating as Ecological Clerk of Works for nesting birds, conducting pre-works inspections, and supervising sensitive vegetation clearance.
Higher level positions are available for those with report writing experience and additional applicable skills and accreditations.
You will live within commuting distance of our Tetbury office or be willing to relocate.
The Role
The role will involve work spread across a broad range of sectors and habitat types developing skills and knowledge around biodiversity net gain, habitat creation and restoration, European Protected Species mitigation and legislation and protected species surveying techniques.
What we offer you
You would be based at our head office which is nestled in the heart of the Cotswolds with flexible working arrangements also a possibility. In addition, you would be part of a team where all ideas and inputs are valued and the company rewards its staff with quarterly appreciation events as well as being part of other schemes which recognise the efforts and value of our staff.
We are committed to understanding and fulfilling the training aspirations of our consultants and encouraging professional growth. Our ecology team comprises Senior and Principal Ecologists who hold Bat, Dormice, Water Vole, White-clawed Crayfish and Barn Owl survey licences, meaning plenty of project-based opportunities to develop your skills to gain your own personal protected species licenses in the future.
