The Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust has a vision for “more nature everywhere, for everyone”. We’re working hard to create an inclusive culture, where everyone feels they belong. This includes you being comfortable bringing your whole self to work, and us co-working with the diverse communities we serve to ensure we are meeting everyone’s needs.
The primary purpose of this role is to engage with our visitors at Greenham & Crookham and Snelsmore Commons, informing them about the heathland and its associated wildlife whilst encouraging them to stay on paths and keep their dogs under control during the bird-nesting season. There will be opportunities to run exciting events, lead guided walks, undertake ecological surveys and monitoring, and carry out visitor surveys.
We are looking for an excellent communicator, who has a good knowledge of wildlife and conservation, can be flexible about their working hours and would enjoy spending the majority of their time outside walking on the commons, interacting with our visitors and engendering enthusiasm and respect for the wonderful wildlife that lives here.
