Partnership Coordinator – R. Chess Smarter Water Catchment Initiative

Salary: £30,000 - 32,000 per annum (pro rata)

Contract: 37.5 hours per week. Fixed term contract to March 2025 with potential extension subject to funding.

Location: Whitehill Centre, White Hill, Chesham, Bucks, HP5 1AG (Covid dependent) with flexibility for home working

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of a ground-breaking initiative which aims to restore the health of one of the Chilterns' precious chalk streams.

The Chilterns Conservation Board, is working with Thames Water and local stakeholders, including the Chiltern Society, to pilot Thames Water's Smarter Water Catchment Initiative in the Chess valley. The five-year Initiative will deliver a more intensive approach to catchment management with necessary resources available to make a real difference to the health of this special chalk stream.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated professional with experience of managing and co-ordinating multi-faceted environmental projects to lead the delivery of the Chess Smarter Water Catchment Plan. You will have excellent communication skills and have a track record of building and maintaining relationships with a variety of stakeholders, communities and individuals. You will be responsible for coordinating stakeholder effort to develop and deliver the annual catchment action plan and play a leading role in ensuring the success of this important initiative.

The post will be based at the Chiltern Society's office in Chesham, with the successful candidate being required to travel to multiple sites across the catchment but also more widely across the Chilterns, including Chilterns Conservation Board's Offices in Chinnor, Oxfordshire. Both staff teams are currently largely home-based due to Covid-19, so the role is likely to comprise a blend of office and home working. Some work outside of normal office hours will also be required.
