Living Rivers Programme Manager

We’re looking for a Living Rivers Programme Manager to lead our Living Rivers Team and develop Derbyshire Wildlife Trust’s role as host of the Derbyshire Derwent Catchment Partnership.

In this role, you'll own our Living Rivers work, including:

  • Managing and administrating multiple river based projects within Derbyshire – We have some fantastic river restoration projects planned but it will be your job to identify an ongoing programme of works that enhance river environments throughout Derbyshire. You will advance our white-clawed crayfish, mink and water vole projects and seek funding for their long term continuation. Depending on the result of DEFRA’s Wild Beaver Consultation, you’ll lead the Living Rivers Team to develop wild or enclosed beaver release projects.
  • Lead on developing our role as host of the Derbyshire Derwent Catchment Partnership – As host of the Catchment Partnership you will lead on collaborating with others to work strategically across the Derbyshire Derwent Catchment area to identify opportunities for catchment restoration.
  • Leadership -you’ll be a trusted advisor, coach and source of information and support for the Trust; keeping abreast of emerging science on rivers and catchment and acting as a key spokesperson when required.
