Housekeeper / Estate Maintenance Couple Required
A prominent Highland estate in Inverness-shire is now recruiting for a couple to fulfil the roles of Part Time Housekeeper and Full Time Estate Maintenance Worker.
The Housekeeper will be fully responsible for a large house on the estate. For approximately half the year the hourly input will be very small, at other times busier, so much flexibility is required. There is also an occasional requirement to cover staff leave on our holiday cottage cleaning. Some weekend working during busy times is essential. This position is a key role on the estate, and candidates should apply only if they can prove an adaptable and flexible approach to working hours.
The Maintenance Worker will carry out a wide range of duties associated with a diverse highland estate, but during the summer period will mainly be required to carry out grass cutting and strimming over the entire estate, both private houses and holiday cottages. They will receive training in the operation and maintenance of the Hydro Electricity Scheme operating on the estate. They should, as a minimum, have the skills to use agricultural and estate machinery safely and effectively, as well as have knowledge in machinery maintenance and broad DIY skills that can be utilised for maintenance of the estate’s property portfolio during the winter.
Accommodation in the form of a very comfortable detached house in the heart of the estate is provided. A full driving licence is essential for both roles.
