£25,000 to £27,000 per year
Permanent, Full time role
This new post has been created to expand and strengthen our Living Seas work across our whole region in response to the growing pressure on marine wildlife and seabirds. It will also allow a greater focus on our internationally-important and extremely popular Skomer and Skokholm Islands.
There is a choice of mainland office bases. You will oversee wildlife, visitor and infrastructure-related management of Skomer and Skokholm Islands (line managing 4 posts), and support the Living Seas Manager (line managing 1 post) based at the Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre (CBMWC) in New Quay.
Your role is to develop and Implement WTSWW’s conservation objectives and strategies linked to our Islands and Marine work across the region, developing projects and funding bids and helping secure funding for core work. You will build links between the research and monitoring work carried out on all our Islands and at CBMWC. You will also stand up for marine wildlife, leading on responses to marine-related consultations and development proposals.
As part of our Senior Management Team you will develop and manage relevant annual budgets and have an active involvement in the Senior Management Team, having regard to the wider work of the charity as a business.
This post would suit someone with a very good understanding of and passion for Marine and /or Seabird Ecology, experience of line, project and budget management and someone who thrives in a very busy working environment, since the Islands in particular have a high profile and attract much media attention.
