We are currently recruiting for Assistant Ecologists to join our 2020 survey team.
We have three month and twelve month contracts available, beginning mid-April/May.
Fieldwork is a substantial element of the job, and successful applicants will be expected to carry out field surveys on upland sites throughout Scotland. As such a high level of fitness is essential. You will live on site in one of our field locations in Angus, Moray or Perthshire in a close-knit team of like-minded people. Travel to other sites is required, and own transport is desirable but not required.
Assistant Ecologists will join our field team in undertaking work such as bird surveys, butterfly surveys, forest deer population assessments, deer impact studies, open hill peat depth surveys, peatland mapping, habitat mapping, lab work, data entry and reporting. A high degree of fitness and strong bird ID skills are essential.
Salary: £16,000 - £20,000 pa, dependent on experience and provision of accommodation.
