Ranger / Groundsperson - Vacancy (Live-Out)
An exciting opportunity has become available for a self-motivated and experienced Ranger / Groundsperson to work within a small team on a stunning 350 acre private country estate located in rural Surrey near Godalming.
This opportunity would suit an enthusiastic and friendly and well presented individual, with good communications skills and who is happy to work with the team or alone.
The estate is set across three areas, the gardens surrounding the house, the Parkland, and the wider estate.
2x Groundspersons / Rangers are needed to manage woodland, cut pathways with a tractor and topper, cut the fields, harrow, care for the wildlife, feed the birds and generally enhance the habitat. There is 1 mile of river frontage (some double bank) and various lakes and ponds. We have high quality machinery, training and a pro-active team.
The Groundspersons / Rangers will work together as a pair, but also assist a team of 5 gardeners and wider teams of staff, ultimately reporting into the Estates Director. Duties typically involve strimming, leaf blowing, feeding birds, felling / cutting up fallen trees with chainsaws, fencing, pruning of trees and topping tracks on the tractor.
A good knowledge of and experience around machinery being used is essential for safe working, so certificates and or experience are required. Training can be given where needed.
A full UK driving Licence is essential due to the rural location of the property and on offer, references and a clear CRB check is required.

Salary: A competitive salary of £35,000- £40,000 (depending on experience) + discretionary bonuses + pension.
Working hours: 07:30 to 16:30 Monday to Friday, with one hour each day for breaks
Annual Leave: 23 days holiday plus Bank Holidays
