Salary: £31,980
Contract: Short term contract until 31st March 2025
The Shallowford Trust is seeking to employ an enthusiastic Engagement Officer to develop and deliver an ambitious outreach and engagement programme for East Shallowford Farm and through a partnership with the Dartmoor Farmers Association develop and deliver farm visits across Dartmoor as part of a new Food to Fork, Nature on the Farm Project. The postholder will identify and develop existing and new partnerships with local farmers, conservation, community organisations , volunteers and schools to deliver positive and long lasting experiences for young people.

The Shallowford Trust is a Dartmoor based charity that has worked with disadvantaged youth for over forty years, to engage, encourage and challenge assumed norms catalysing positive change through physical work and practical engagement.
This post is part funded through the Dartmoor Farming in Protected Landscapes (FiPL) scheme.
If you are engaging , fun, enthusiastic and like working with young people and volunteers then this could be the job for you. Based on a farm near Widecombe in the Moor, Dartmoor you will be working in one of the most treasured landscapes in the country helping young people to learn about themselves, connect with nature and understand how farming can support conservation. We are looking for someone with excellent communications skills, who is competent at delivering outdoor education activities, with good organisational skills and willing to work flexibly.
Travelling requirements for your role:
Must have a full, clean driving license and a car as most of the work is based on Dartmoor.
Contract:
Until 31 March 2025 with the potential for extension
Hours: 37.5 per week to include to include some weekend and evening work
