Outdoor Nursery Manager

Hours: Full time - 35 hrs / week (part time / job share considered).

Salary: £25,500 - £28, 000 / annum (or pro rata if doing job share).

Earthtime are looking for a Nursery Manager to manage our two Forest School nurseries at Duffus and in Cooper park, Elgin.

Purpose of the Job

The Nursery Manager will oversee the operation of the Forest School nurseries to the highest standards, ensuring that the best possible care, education and environment are provided for children.

The Nursery Manager will be expected to lead, supervise and support other personnel within the nurseries, ensuring high quality training and continuous professional development for the nursery teams.

The Nursery Manager will be expected to carry out / oversee the day to day management of the nursery including organising staff rotas, equipment, budget, administrative duties, reporting, incident management and other operational duties.

The Nursery Manager will oversee health and safety of children and staff at the nurseries, ensuring that policies and procedures are safe, up-to-date, implemented and in accordance with legislation and guidance.

The Nursery Manager will work closely with the Lead Officer, Community Projects Manager and Business Manager as part of the Earthtime’s management team to support the organisation of Earthtime in line with Earthtime’s vision, values and aims.

Essential skills and Qualifications

  • Early Years Degree / Qualified Teacher Status or working towards this.
  • Experience in an early-years setting.
  • 2 years experience in a leadership role (such as a manager, deputy or senior).
  • Able to manage, motivate and lead a team.
  • Good knowledge of safeguarding children and the obligations of an Early Years Setting.
  • A passion for outdoor education/ nature play and the natural environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills to build rapport with parents and support practitioners.
