Sheffield & Rotherham Wildlife Trust are recruiting for the role of an Ancient Woodland Inventory Analyst, to deliver a project to update the AWI for South Yorkshire. This will involve using desk based GIS processes, species data searches, historic research and on site botanical surveys to identify ancient woodland and update the existing inventory.

The successful applicant must be proficient at using QGIS, and have a meticulous and methodical approach to carrying out GIS tasks and research. Ideally they will have experience of carrying out and supervising botanical surveys or will have experience of commissioning and overseeing external contractors. They must be able to work flexibly to a tight deadline.

The post sits within our evidence team, and will contribute to wider work to improve and embed evidence based conservation at Sheffield & Rotherham Wildlife Trust. A successful applicant will be encouraged to follow an agile approach and embrace digital solutions to their work.
