Keystone Ecology

Ecological Field Surveyors

Paid • Temporary

Sectors: ecology

Closing date: Not specified, apply soon!

We are looking for a number of enthusiastic Field Ecologists to help us with our busy field survey season, particularly in South Wales for an upcoming reptile translocation.

You will need to have a qualification in Ecology or a related field and ideally have experience of protected species survey, however we are able to provide relevant training for a limited number of surveyors to carry out some aspects of survey work under licences held by our experienced staff.

There may also be opportunities for people without a formal qualification but a keen interest in ecology/wildlife to accompany our surveyors for health and safety reasons.

At present we have a specific requirement for surveyors and survey assistants in the South Wales area for an initial 50 day reptile translocation commencing in late July, with the possibility of an extension to the initial anticipated duration.

Rates will be agreed on a project by project basis.

You will need:

  • A full clean driving licence
  • Your own car
  • A mobile phone which you would be willing to use to liaise with the office
  • Willingness to work independently
  • Some sites require a CSCS card, so this would be an advantage
