Contract: Fixed Term for 18 months
Hours: 37 hours per week (1fte),
Location: Home based and/or Wales office at National Botanic Gardens
Salary: Band C - £25,533 to £29,498 pa, dependent upon experience plus 8% pension contribution

Over the next five years, Butterfly Conservation is committed to delivering the biggest possible impact for nature, playing a leading role within the conservation sector, with our new, ambitious strategy.

This is a full-time 18-month fixed term appointment (part-time and job share applicants will be considered). We are looking for someone with the skills, knowledge and experience who wants a new and exciting opportunity to move forward Butterfly Conservation’s new Saving Butterflies and Moths 2021-2026 Strategy in Wales. The role will assist with the delivery of the Strategy, focussing on threatened butterflies and moths and their landscapes within South Wales. This will be achieved through using your species and habitat knowledge to engage with government, statutory agencies, voluntary and private sector organisations, landowners and volunteers.

You will report into our Wales Senior Conservation Officer and work closely with internal and external stakeholders across Wales and the UK. You will be expected to plan and deliver survey and monitoring work for threatened butterflies and moths, provide management advice and assist with the development and delivery of species conservation projects.
