Salary: £14.50 per hour, 16 hours split over 3 days to include (regular, pre-agreed) Saturdays or Sundays. This role is offered on a self-employed basis. Guidance can be given at interview stage.

Bolghen Tree Nursery CIC (formed in 2021) is a CIC that works with volunteers and communities to grow native broadleaved trees for planting woodland and hedgerows in Cornwall. This is a new enterprise which is beginning to establish itself as a Community Tree Nursery. At present we have approximately 3,000 oak trees, mostly saplings raised in our tree nursery, and are on target to grow over 5,000 new trees from seed this year.
We are recruiting a Community Tree Nursery Coordinator to work at our tree nursery. This post is supported by the Woodland Trust’s Emergency Tree Fund. Managed by one of our Directors, Rodger Barton, who owns the tree nursery, and the post holder is expected to work closely with volunteers. Joining us at this pivotal point, this role is expected to evolve and grow along-side the project as it develops.
We pride ourselves on our community engagement. The role will establish regular groups of volunteers who are very important to helping us achieve our goals. You must provide a welcoming, enjoyable, and engaging experience for those volunteers and be friendly and approachable. In your role you will be involved in all aspects of tree nursery work. We are a dynamic, friendly, and growing CIC and are looking for people who can help us meet our ambitious objective of growing thousands of native trees every year and restoring woodland and hedgerows on Cornwall.
The role is part-time and will include working will include working on pre-agreed Saturdays or Sundays.
