Summary
As a conservation champion and lover of all things outdoors, you’ll help to keep the British countryside and coast wonderful. Working in some of the nation’s most stunning places and spaces, come rain or shine, your enthusiasm will inspire others as you strive to ensure that our landscapes are safe and beautifully presented and continue to take our visitors’ breath away.
What it's like to work here
Purbeck is one of the most ecologically diverse landscapes in the UK, hosting internationally important and designated habitats. These include: A significant area of lowland heath, coastal dunes, saltmarsh and cliffs, ancient woodland and calcareous grassland. It's our mission to connect people to Purbeck’s wild coast & countryside through experiences that move, teach and inspire, leading people to share and develop our vision. We aim to work with our partners and stakeholders to ensure Purbeck remains an enchanting place for people of all ages to discover.
What you'll be doing
As an Area Ranger in Purbeck you'll be joining a team of three, each working over an area of broad specialism, delivering our cause through our stunning countryside property.
The role that has become available means that you'll be leading in estates infrastructure management. This means identifying and implementing work plans for all aspects of physical countryside infrastructure (gates, fences, paths, footbridges, etc.) and connecting people to our amazing countryside and wildlife experiences. You'll oversee an annual budget against your work programme and manage contractors as part of this role. We also have a herd of Exmoor Ponies, and it will be your job to ensure that these are handled to our NT equine standards.
