Moor Trees (formed in 1999) is a charity that works with volunteers and communities to recreate native woodland in and around Dartmoor and South Devon. At present we plant approximately 5-7 ha of new woodland a year, mostly saplings raised in our two nurseries, which currently hold about 13,500 seedlings.
We are currently expanding our operations and growing Moor Trees. We are looking for a talented individual to manage our two tree nurseries, the tree nursery and operational staff and deliver the woodland creation programme. You must have a higher level qualification in Horticulture or Nursery management, or demonstrable practical experience to that level.
We pride ourselves on our community engagement and our volunteers are very important to help us achieve our goals. You must be able to provide a welcoming, enjoyable, and engaging experience for those volunteers and be a strong, approachable leader.
In your role you will work closely with the Director and as part of a small team you will be willing to become involved in all aspects of the organisation. We are a dynamic, friendly and growing charity and are looking for someone who can help us meet our ambitious objective of growing 40,000 native trees every year and restoring woodland to places in Devon. You will need excellent interpersonal skills, as well as being proficient in IT, project and budget management.
To apply please request an application pack from firstname.lastname@example.org, or call 01364 649 277. You will be required to submit your CV and a covering letter, outlining your relevant skills and experience for the role.
Any questions you may have or if would like to discuss any aspects of this role further please do not hesitate to contact Adam Owen (Director), email@example.com or Janet Cotter (Chair of Trustees), firstname.lastname@example.org.
