Research Assistant - Clean Seas and Wales Programmes

Contract: Permanent, full time

Salary: £20,200 - £24,000 dependent on experience

Location: Cardiff (initially home based)

The Marine Conservation Society fights for the future of our ocean through people-powered action – with science on our side.

We have ambitious plans to drive political, cultural and social change and as we EU-exit – it is vital that MCS is able to support work in Wales and across the whole of the UK’s clean seas programme.

We are looking for a talented individual who has a strong background in understanding policy and advocacy in Wales, and is interested in supporting broader work on pollution across the whole of the UK.

Key Skills

  • Extensive understanding of the marine environment
  • Able to independently undertake research and present a critical analysis, e.g. from datasets or via desktop research
  • Experience in GIS mapping, including using Arc GIS and the presentation of geographical data
