Do you want to manage the South-East’s newest 250-mile long National Trail? If so, there is now a unique opportunity to be the National Trail Officer for the South-East section of the England Coast Path.
The role, which covers the Coast Path from Bexley to Brighton, is based in the Rights of Way & Countryside Team at East Sussex County Council. As the National Trail Officer, you’ll be managing a new 250-mile long-distance walking route, running along the coast of the South-East.

Working with stakeholders, your role will also involve the funding, promotion, and enhancement of the Coast Path. This will require independent travel around the South-East to remote locations in all weathers. You will also be dealing with a wide range of people, often resolving competing interests.
Further support for the role is also provided nationally by a wider ‘family’ of National Trail Officers.
As this role works across the South-East, we would be open to discussing flexibility in working location and also considering the role as a job share.
