It is an incredibly exciting time to be joining us. If you are passionate about the environment, conservation and tackling biodiversity loss you couldn’t be in a better place!
We are looking for someone with the skills, knowledge and experience to lead and manage our conservation teams in Wales and Northern Ireland.
You will lead our species recovery work and landscape scale conservation across the two countries, working closely with our UK wide Ecology and Landscapes leads, as well as with our Heads of Conservation in Scotland and England, and other internal and external stakeholders.
This is a varied and stimulating role, where you could be developing bids, working on policy and advocacy, giving presentations, and working on landscape management plans all in the same week.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need an excellent understanding of the ecology of butterflies and moths, experience of developing and delivering conservation and other projects and contracts, and the ability to communicate with a wide range of individuals including land managers, NGO partners, government agencies, volunteers and media.
You will report into our Director of Conservation and will be responsible for managing the conservation teams across Wales and Northern Ireland.
Candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
Closing date: Midday Wednesday 12 April 2023
Interviews will take place via zoom during week commencing 1 May 2023.
No agencies please
We believe our work has never been more important.
Wildlife is in steep decline across the UK and over three-quarters of butterflies and two-thirds of moths are declining. We recognise it needs a great team with a wide variety of skills to tackle the problems facing butterflies, moths and the environment.
Our staff and volunteers are proud to be part of Butterfly Conservation and are dedicated to making a difference to the environment we live in. We understand the importance of maintaining and expanding our expert and valued team of people and offer a range of roles located all over the UK, from the peat bogs in Scotland to the post room in Dorset.
